Nadie crea o hace... Nadie ama... Nadie es bueno...
Sólo el Padre.
La práctica de la Ciencia Cristiana tampoco es una
actividad personal, independiente de la acción divina.
"Se le perdona mucho porque ha amado mucho".
Son palabras de Jesús.
Con ellas enseña que se es perdonado en la medida
que se ama.
Pero perdonar es desatar, sacarnos de la cárcel de
las dolorosas limitaciones.
En otra ocasión el maestro dijo: "La verdad os
hará libre". Lo que nos descubre que en “la lengua nueva”, Verdad y
Amor son palabras equivalentes. Sin embargo, no estamos hablando de
conceptos humanos o mortales. Sólo nos referimos a los divinos. Estos
son los únicos reales.
Por tanto “se le ha perdonado mucho porque ha amado
mucho” significa “se ha liberado” porque ha sido capaz de “sentir” el
Amor.
Ha sido perdonada (desatada como se dice de la
hemorroísa) porque tomó consciencia de la presencia del Amor. No es que
ella se esforzara por amar, por perdonar a su vez a los otros, sino
porque al experimentar el abrazo del Amor se convirtió en su reflejo, y
proyectó amor por todas partes.
Mary Baker Eddy usa este pasaje evangélico como la
introducción o nota tónica del capítulo que sobre la PRÁCTICA nos dejó
en su libro Ciencia y Salud con clave de las Escrituras.
La elección de este relato concreto indica
cual ha de ser la esencia de la Práctica.
Es el Amor. Sólo si somos conscientes de Él somos
liberados de cualquier atadura privativa de la felicidad a que tenemos
derecho.
El Amor es quien acaba con "el terreno" donde se
desarrolla toda enfermedad o desarmonía: el miedo.
El Amor es quien hace que veamos sólo la Verdad, es
decir, la realidad. Y ésta es el Bien Infinito.
Y lo que favorece más el sentirnos en el Amor son
los tiempos de oración. Esos son la ocasión para sentir la
inquebrantable unión con Dios, base firme y única de la existencia.
Absortos en Él, la Vida, la Bondad, la Belleza, la
Abundancia y la Perfección infinita disfrutamos nuestro bautismo
purificador y nuestra comunión reconfortadora.
Por eso, la descubridora de la Ciencia Cristiana
respondía así la pregunta que hacía a sus estudiantes acerca de “la
mejor forma de hacer una curación instantánea”:
'Yo les voy a decir la forma de hacerlo. ¡Es
amando! Simplemente vivan el amor —sean el amor— amen, amen, amen. No
conozcan otra cosa que no sea el Amor. No hay nada más. Eso hará la
obra. Sanará todo; resucitará muertos. No sean otra cosa, sino amor' (Sue Harper Mims, We Knew Mary Baker Eddy, p. 134 )
Y es que no podemos ser otra cosa que Amor, al ser
Éste lo único que es y existe. Porque “... en Él vivimos, nos movemos y
tenemos nuestro ser”(Hechos 17:28)
Nobody creates or does....Nobody
loves....Nobody is good.... Only the Father.
Neither is the Christian Science
practice a personal activity, separate from divine action.
These are Jesus’ words: “Her
sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much.” (Luke 7:47).
Through these words we are
taught we are forgiven to the extent we love.
But forgiving is to loosen, to
set us free from the prison of our painful limitations.
On another occasion, the Master
said “Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John
8:32) which reveals that in “the new tongue” Truth and Love are the
same. However, we are not speaking of human or mortal concepts. We
are referring only to the divine concepts. They are the only real
ones.
Therefore “Her sins, which are
many, are forgiven; for she loved much….” means “she has been set
free” because she has been able to “feel” Love.
She has been forgiven (“thou art
loosed from thy infirmity” - Luke 13:12 ) because she became aware of
Love’s presence. Not that she endeavoured to love, to forgive others,
but because when feeling Love’s embrace she became Its reflection, and
radiated love everywhere.
Mary Baker Eddy used this passage
from Luke 7 as an introduction or keynote to the chapter she left us on
(Christian Science) PRACTICE in her book “Science and Health with Key
to the Scriptures”.
Her choice of this specific
passage in Luke shows what the essence of the Practice has to be:
Love.
Only if we are aware of Love we
are set free from any bonds which may be robbing us of the freedom we
are entitled to.
Love is who wipes out “the soil”,
that is to say, fear, where all sickness or discord develops.
Love is who makes us see only
Truth, that is to say, reality. And reality is Infinite Good.
And what most assists our feeling
ourselves within Love is our prayerful moments. Such moments are the
occasions to feel the unbreakable union with God, the only sound basis
of our existence.
Engrossed in Him, infinite Life,
Goodness, Beauty, Abundance and Perfection, we enjoy our purifying
baptism and our strengthening communion.
That is why the discoverer of
Christian Science thus answered the question she had set her students
about “the best way to have an instantaneous healing”:
“I will tell you the way to do
it. It is to love! Just live love – be it – love, love, love. Do not
know anything but Love. Be all love. There is nothing else. That will
do the work. It will heal everything; it will raise the dead. Be
nothing but love.” (“We knew Mary Baker Eddy”, Third Series, Sue
Harper Mims, page 49-50).
It is plain that we can only be
Love, as Love is the only One which is and exists. Because “…in Him we
live, and move, and have our being” (Acts.
27:38)
